LEAKED: Assassin's Creed IV Screenshots

Ubisoft is poised to announce Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag tomorrow afternoon to the world but we just got our hands on some screenshots of the wayward assassin as he sails around the Caribbean. Shiver me timbers yo ho!

Edward Kenway, grandfather to Connor, seems to have just "popped a cap" in someone's jugular. The other two "guards" are armed with muskets tipped with bayonets. On Edward we can see he has three pistols, a sword, an unknown weapon on his back, and the infamous hidden blade on his right arm.

Edward is embracing his inner Leonardo DiCaprio as he casts his pearly whites upon Moby Dick. This action scene seems like a cinematic shot rather than the player being able to shimmy up the side of your ship. I would expect this to be apart of the beginning of the game. I would love to see a bounty of beasties in the ocean.

Edward is seen here jumping from deck to deck wielding his swords like Galen "Starkiller" Marek towards unprepared enemy. This may be another cinematic shot but if you have piracy in the Caribbean you cannot skip on the ship battles and boarding your enemy's vessel. I would imagine that a boarding axe could come in quite handy when Edward is in close quarters with some templars.

Cannons. I have extremely high hopes for Assassin's Creed IV just because I love piracy. I love the history, the legends of personalities, and the iconic imagery of two galleons waging personal war with each other while shooting huge chunks of metal at each other. If Ubisoft does things right Edward could have a fleet under him and be able to take down merchant ships at any time, battle the Spanish Armada without batting a blade, and cruise around without a worry. You could hire ship hands and assassins in towns and cities and house and train them on your flag ship.

The jungles will be a big part of the game because of the cover that the shade offers, the vines and trees will allow Edward to maneuver around, and if Ubisoft could do a lot with the idea of alchemy in the Caribbean forests. The first four Assassin's Creeds used a heavy brown colour palette, III used lighter blues and whites, IV will use dark blues and heavy greens.

That's all for now folks. Ubisoft will announce Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag tomorrow for PC, 360, PS3, and future consoles, aka PS4 and the yet announced Next Xbox.
Thanks AGB
