The Internet has been ablaze the past few days with gamers griping over the underwhelming SimCity launch, which was plagued by malfunctioning servers and a wash of misinformation. Now, Maxis, along with EA hopes to mend some of those wounds with a free game.
On March 20, gamers who purchased SimCity will receive one of eight free games at their disclosure. The eight games are: Battlefield 3, Bejeweled 3, Dead Space 3, Mass Effect 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Plants vs. Zombies and SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition.
The games will be distributed via Origin, EA's game service platform. The deal will not include deluxe editions of the games, so if you already own all the game's standard editions, you may be out of luck. All players need to do in order to redeem their free game is make sure their copy of SimCity is registered and log on to Origin.
