This year, at CES, Microsoft unveiled a new piece of tech. During their press conference, Microsoft showed off what they call "Illumiroom." This is not a new concept to anyone who saw the leak Xbox 720 documents back in June 2012. Basically, the idea is for the video game you're playing to become projected out around you onto the walls of the room making a more immersive experience. Microsoft made no mention of when or how this Tech will be implemented in the real world, however their video did show a gamer playing a game and getting the full effect of the Illumiroom. Most people, myself included, are speculating that this tech will be integrated into the next Xbox and we will see it sometime later this year or at the beginning of 2014.

I'm all for this but I fear that most people will not be able to set this up in their home without help, it wont be used properly (or perform properly), and the tech wont perform as well as the trailer indicates.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping though.
