Gamasutra has confirmed that Valve has laid off quite a handful of employees on Tuesday. This sad news sparks questions as to why this happened and the report claims it's the company making "large decisions" for the future.
A solid number isn't available yet but "25" has been thrown around in this situation. The lay offs affect more than one area of the company but the bulk is from the Andoid and hardware development department.
Employees were told not to comment on the specifics but this seems like a downsize due to company obstacles rather than personal performance.
