Sci-Fi-Inspired 'CommBadge' to Revolutionize Bluetooth Communication

For fans of Star Trek, you can already gather what this device is. For those who aren't versed in the series, the CommBadge is a device used in Star Trek: the Next Generation as a communication device/I.D. badge combination, making the name "CommBadge" very obvious. A fan of the series (who simultaneously hated bluetooth headsets) developed a device based on this formerly fictional tech.

The device is a simple speakerphone that clips onto your shirt. It can send commands to your smartphone through Bluetooth Smart, allowing you to interact with Siri or Google Now hands-free, and can host crystal-clear phone conversations. The clarity of the sound was a big focus for the developer, so an advanced noise-canceling chipset was installed to bring background noise to a bare minimum. The device's range can go up to 30 meters, making it a very handy office tool, if you're not always at your desk. A badge reel is installed in the CommBadge as well, so you can throw out your old I.D. lanyard as well as your old headset.

The CommBadge is customizable with the free companion app, and the device itself is available for pre-order on www.indiegogo.com.
