Originally planned to be a launch feature of the WiiU, Nintendo today announced that the feature would hit consoles December 20, meaning that WiiUs unwrapped on Christmas will have the feature ready to be used.
"Nintendo TVii maximizes Wii U owners' current cable, satellite and video-on-demand services by pulling all of their available content sources – such as a Comcast cable package or Hulu Plus subscription – into one place," according to a Nintendo press release.
The application will not allow Netflix, Amazon Prime, or TiVo compatibility, though Netflix has it's own WiiU application. Support for TiVo and Netflix is expected in 2013.
TVii is free to all WiiU owners and does not require an additional purchase or hardware.
