Following the recent announcement of the White PS3 coming to the United States and Canada, Sony has now decided that they need a new color to have exclusively in Japan. Today, the Garnet Red and Azurite Blue models were revealed for an estimated price of $250 (24,980 Yen) and will be available for a limited time, starting Febuary 28th. These Playstations come with a 250gb hard drive and a matching controller. Luckily, Sony does not put region locks onto their consoles, so any hardcore fan like Richard (He mentioned that he wanting a Blue PS3 in the latest episode of the Tech Fixation Podcast) would be able to import one of these consoles and still be able to use it without any problems.
We have reached out to Sony for comments on a possible release in the U.S., and we will let you know what their resonse is once we get it.
