Wii U Now Has Google Maps & Street View

The amazing thing about Nintendo's Not-So-Next-Gen console is that it really is a revolutionary gaming platform. To one up Microsoft and Sony Nintendo just announced that Google Maps with Street View is now available for Wii U systems in North America.

The Wii U’s implementation is rather clever as it uses the Wii U’s GamePad to allow users to pan around various locations while the satellite imagery is shown on the television. While it’s uses aren't the most practical, the idea behind it is entertaining.

The app launched in Japan last week and Nintendo announced its U.S. availability today on the ever-entertaining Nintendo Direct videocast.

The free app on the eShop right now.
