According to VG247 they were told after meetings were held at CES that the PS4, codenamed Orbis, will have a run-capability of 1.84 teraflops and the next Xbox, codenamed Durango, will have a run-capability of 1.23 teraflops. Thats a 50% raw computing power difference with PS4 having the upperhand.

Microsoft's next console isn't an underdog by any means with a much more significant amount of RAM than the PS4 at 8GB. 3GB is reserved for Operating Systems, Apps, and security, leaving 4-5GB for games.

Sony's PS4 will have 4GB of RAM, half of Microsoft's, of which 1GB will be busy with Operating Systems, Apps, and security, leaving 4-5GB for games.

Both machines will supposedly have have the ability to read 100Gb Blu-ray discs.

Reports say Durango is apparently based on the Radeon HD 8770 GPU and Orbis has been previously rumoured to be built on AMD’s A10 APU.

It was recently claimed that the two machines are to be announced in late March, with Microsoft using GDC or their own event to announce the next Xbox. It’s widely assumed that both consoles will launch in November this year.
