Although there is no information available on the CPU, the Roku will feature 1080p out, USB port, Ethernet port, MicroSD card slot, dual-band wifi, and a redesigned remote with motion control and audio output. I'm most intrigued by the new remote because I like the idea of being able to plug headphones into the remote for private listening. Although I can't see myself using this feature a lot, it would definitely be a plus for the old folks who are hard of hearing and probably wouldn't know how to run one of these things anyways. Also, the Roku 3 comes with a redesigned interface that will be available for older Roku's by April.
I've never owned or used a Roku box in my life, I've always leaned more towards using Apple products. The Roku 3 and the Apple TV are priced the exact same ($99), but with the Roku 3's new features I'm definitely tempted to lean more towards the Roku in this matter. I love how fluid the UI is and the higher number of streaming services definitely make it an easy choice for me. In terms of consumer value, the Roku 3 wins this battle hands down.
